Ingredients

  • 1 package banana cake mix
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Pour oil into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan; tilt to cover the bottom.
  3. Put remaining ingredients into the pan; stir with a fork or spoon until blended, about 2 minutes.
  4. Scrape sides and spread batter evenly in the pan.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool; sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
  7. Serve directly from the pan.
  8. Store loosely covered.
