Favorite Fall Salad

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dry roasted pecans or walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 5 shallots, carmelized or roasted and thinly sliced.
  • 1 large bosc pear or crisp apple, diced
  • Several ounces goat cheese or gorgonzola, crumbled
  • 1 pound mixed salad greens, washed and dried
  • Bottled maple-balsamic vinaigrette or homemade salad dressing.

Instructions

  1. Arrange the greens in a salad bowl. Seperate shallots and sprinkle them evenly over the greens. Follow with nuts, apple or pear, and cheese. Sprinkle the cranberries over last. Serve with dressing on the side.
