Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup honey or light Karo
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 5 cups nuts (1 lb. package shelled walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Cook the sugar, water, honey (or light Karo), and a pinch of salt to a very soft ball stage.
  2. Stir in the nuts and cook until coated and caramelized.
  3. Turn out onto a waxed paper-covered tray and separate the nuts. Allow to cool and harden.
