Ingredients

  • 4 (2-inch) filets
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 small onions, peeled and halved
  • 1 cup red wine

Instructions

  1. Rub the filets with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt butter in a heavy frying pan.
  3. Add the steaks to the pan.
  4. Brown the steaks on both sides.
  5. Reduce heat to simmer and add onions and red wine.
  6. Cover the skillet tightly.
  7. Simmer the steaks for 3 minutes.
