Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 1/4 lb. oleo, melted

Instructions

  1. Sift together above 5 ingredients in the pan you are baking in.
  2. Use 8 x 8-inch size.
  3. Make three wells in the mixture.
  4. In one part, put 1 teaspoon vanilla.
  5. In 2nd well, put 1 teaspoon vinegar and in the 3rd, put 1/4 pound of melted oleo.
  6. On top of all this, pour 1 cup cold water.
  7. Stir until well blended and smooth.
  8. Bake in 350° oven 25 to 30 minutes.
  9. When cool, ice with favorite icing.
