Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 beaten egg yolk
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 can Wilderness fruit filling
  • butter

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, shortening, sugar, and salt until crumbly.
  2. Blend in beaten egg yolk and milk until dough comes together.
  3. Roll out half of the dough to fit a medium-sized pan.
  4. Spread the fruit filling over the rolled-out dough.
  5. Dot with butter over the filling.
  6. Cover with the remaining dough and brush the top with egg white.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 35 minutes.
  8. Glaze with powdered sugar icing after baking.
