Ingredients

  • 1 package semi-sweet chocolate
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla, rum, or brandy (or more to taste)

Instructions

  1. Put the chocolate and water in a pan and stir over hot water until melted.
  2. Separate the eggs into whites and yolks.
  3. Beat the egg whites until stiff and set aside.
  4. Beat the egg yolks until thick and lemon-colored.
  5. Beat in the melted chocolate and vanilla, rum, or brandy into the egg yolks.
  6. Gently fold in the beaten egg whites into the chocolate mixture.
  7. Spoon the mousse into cocktail glasses.
  8. Chill for 12 hours or more before serving.
