Ingredients

  • 1 qt. coffee ice cream
  • 18 Oreo cookies
  • 1/3 c. melted butter
  • 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2/3 c. evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs and combine with melted butter.
  2. Press the Oreo mixture into the sides and bottom of a 9-inch metal pie plate to form the crust.
  3. Freeze the crust until firm.
  4. Melt the unsweetened chocolate and stir in sugar and butter until smooth.
  5. Add evaporated milk slowly to the chocolate mixture, stirring constantly.
  6. Cook the mixture until thickened, then chill it.
  7. Fill the frozen crust with slightly softened coffee ice cream.
  8. Freeze again until the ice cream is hard.
  9. Spread the cooled chocolate mixture over the top of the ice cream layer.
  10. Sprinkle with walnuts if desired.
  11. Freeze until ready to serve.
