A warm, fruity dessert with layers of apple and pineapple under a buttery cake topping, perfect for cozy gatherings and served with ice cream or whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Comstock apple pie filling
  • 1 can (same size) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/2 sticks melted margarine

Instructions

  1. In a 9 x 11-inch cake pan, layer the apple pie filling evenly in the bottom.
  2. Top the apple layer with the drained crushed pineapple, spreading it evenly over the apples.
  3. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the pineapple layer.
  4. Melt the margarine and drizzle it evenly over the cake mix.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top of the margarine.
  6. Bake at 350°F for approximately 50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm, either plain or topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
