Tips & Substitutions

For a vibrant flavor, use a mix of fruit juices like apple and peach. If you'd like to reduce sugar, substitute with honey or agave syrup, adjusting to taste. Ensure the fruit puree is smooth for a pleasant texture. If you want a vegan version, ensure the gelatine is derived from a plant source, such as agar-agar.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these fruit freeze pops as a refreshing summer treat. They pair beautifully with Scandinavian Fruit Soup for a fruity dessert platter. For a fun twist, try layering different fruit purees in the cups before freezing. Perfect for picnics or as a kid-friendly snack!

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover freeze pops in the freezer, wrapped tightly in plastic wrap or placed in an airtight container to prevent freezer burn. They can be enjoyed for up to 2 months. Avoid refreezing thawed pops, as this may affect their texture and flavor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use frozen fruit instead of fresh?

Yes, frozen fruit can be used, but make sure to thaw and drain excess liquid before pureeing. Fresh fruit typically provides a better texture and flavor, so consider this if you want the best results.

How long do the freeze pops take to freeze?

Generally, freeze pops will take about 4-6 hours to freeze fully. For best results, allow them to freeze overnight. If you prefer a softer texture for easier removal, you can check them after a couple of hours to see if they’re ready for sticks.

Can I add other ingredients like yogurt?

Absolutely! Adding a layer of yogurt can create a creamy texture. Just make sure to adjust the sweetness and blend it well with the other ingredients. This addition can also enhance the nutritional value of your freeze pops!
