Fudge Marble Bars combine rich chocolate and vanilla flavors in a marbled effect, perfect for chocolate lovers and ideal for sharing at parties or as a sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg Duncan Hines fudge marble cake mix
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
  3. Set aside the cocoa packet.
  4. Combine cake mix, 1/4 cup water, eggs, and softened butter in a large bowl.
  5. Add the cocoa packet, chocolate chips, and 1 teaspoon water; stir until blended.
  6. Add nuts to the yellow batter (if desired).
  7. Spread the yellow batter in the prepared pan.
  8. Spoon the chocolate batter randomly on top of the yellow batter.
  9. Swirl the batter with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 22 to 27 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  11. Cool completely, then cut into bars measuring approximately 2 x 1 1/2 inches.
