Ingredients

  • 6 oz. chocolate chips
  • 6 oz. butterscotch chips
  • 1 can Eagle Brand condensed sweetened milk
  • walnuts, chopped
  • maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. In the top of a double boiler, melt the chocolate chips and butterscotch chips with the sweetened condensed milk until thick.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped walnuts.
  3. Place the mixture in the refrigerator and chill for about 1 hour until firm.
  4. Drop by tablespoonfuls to form a ring shape on a tray or plate.
  5. Decorate the fudge ring with additional chopped nuts and maraschino cherries.

Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using semi-sweet chocolate chips or adding a pinch of salt to the mixture. You can substitute the walnuts with pecans or even leave them out for a nut-free version. If you want to enhance the sweetness, try adding a splash of vanilla extract. Make sure to chill the mixture long enough to ensure it firms up properly.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the Fudge-Scotch Ring as a delightful dessert at gatherings or as a sweet treat alongside a cup of coffee or tea. It pairs beautifully with a refreshing Purple Passion Fruit Salad for a balanced dessert spread. You can also consider serving it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. For best results, allow the fudge to come to room temperature before serving. You can also freeze the fudge for longer storage; just wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and then in foil to prevent freezer burn.
