Ingredients

  • 16 oz. pork and beans
  • 16 oz. lima beans
  • 16 oz. kidney beans
  • 1 onion
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup catsup
  • 1 cup sharp Cheddar cheese
  • bacon

Instructions

  1. Saute the chopped onion until translucent.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pork and beans, lima beans, and kidney beans, ensuring all are the same size.
  3. Add the sauteed onion, brown sugar, and catsup to the bean mixture and stir well.
  4. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with shredded sharp Cheddar cheese.
  5. Lay slices of bacon over the top of the casserole.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 60 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
