George'S Cherry Crisp

Ingredients

  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1/4 c. sifted flour
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c. uncooked quick cooking oats
  • 1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour pie filling into 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In small bowl, combine flour and butter.
  3. With pastry blender or 2 knives, scissor-fashion, cut in butter.
  4. Add oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg; mix well.
  5. Sprinkle over cherries.
  6. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
  7. If desired, serve topped with whipped cream.
