German Steak Rolls feature tender cube steak filled with ham and pickles, coated in seasoned flour, browned, and baked in a savory gravy—perfect for hearty, flavorful meals.

Ingredients

  • cube steak
  • hot German mustard
  • thin sliced ham
  • dill pickles

Instructions

  1. Roll steaks very thin.
  2. Spread a thin layer of hot German mustard on each steak.
  3. Place a slice of ham and a quartered dill pickle on each steak.
  4. Roll up each steak and fasten with a toothpick.
  5. Dredge the rolled steaks in seasoned flour.
  6. Brown the coated steaks in a small amount of hot oil.
  7. Arrange the browned steaks in a single layer in a baking pan.
  8. Add some of the seasoned flour to the hot oil and make a thin water gravy.
  9. Pour the gravy over the steaks, enough to cover them.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
