Gingham Carrots

Ingredients

  • 3 large carrots
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 tsp. instant minced onion
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. brown sugar
  • dash of nutmeg
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Pare and coarsely grate carrots (about 2 to 2 1/2 cups). Place in saucepan with butter, instant onion and water.
  2. Cover and cook gently until carrots are tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat; stir in brown sugar, nutmeg and salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Makes 3 to 4 servings.
