Glorified Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 10 slices day old bread (raisin and cinnamon)
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Butter bread and arrange slices in buttered baking dish about 7 x 11-inches.
  2. Beat eggs and sugar together.
  3. Add milk and vanilla.
  4. Pour half of the mixture over bread.
  5. Let stand until bread is soaked.
  6. Cut through bread until it is in 1-inch pieces. Add remainder of egg mixture.
  7. Bake about an hour at 325° or until custard is set.
  8. Makes 6 to 7 servings.
