Glorified Bread Pudding

Instructions
- Butter bread and arrange slices in buttered baking dish about 7 x 11-inches.
- Beat eggs and sugar together.
- Add milk and vanilla.
- Pour half of the mixture over bread.
- Let stand until bread is soaked.
- Cut through bread until it is in 1-inch pieces. Add remainder of egg mixture.
- Bake about an hour at 325° or until custard is set.
- Makes 6 to 7 servings.
