Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • walnut halves
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and 1 1/4 cups sugar until smooth.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Sift together self-rising flour, salt, and cinnamon, then gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  4. Shape the dough into small balls.
  5. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon to make cinnamon sugar.
  6. Roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  7. Place the coated balls on a greased baking sheet.
  8. Press a walnut half onto the top of each ball.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 12 minutes.
