"Grace'S" Strawberry Preserves

Sweet and tangy strawberry preserves with a rich, fruity flavor perfect for spreading on hot cakes, waffles, or bread. Ideal for breakfast or a delightful snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 qt. sliced strawberries
  • 2 qt. boiling water
  • 4 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Place sliced strawberries in a colander and pour boiling water over them.
  2. Drain the strawberries thoroughly.
  3. Put the drained berries into a heavy pan.
  4. Add 2 cups of sugar to the berries and bring to a boil.
  5. Boil slowly for 5 minutes.
  6. Add the remaining 2 cups of sugar.
  7. Boil for another 5 minutes.
  8. Let the mixture set overnight.
  9. Seal and refrigerate the preserves.
