Grandmommy'S Rolls
Delicious homemade rolls with a tender crumb and buttery filling, perfect for breakfast or dinner. Soft, flaky, and easy to customize for any occasion.

Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of warm water and set aside until foamy.
- Sift flour and sugar together in a large bowl.
- Mix Crisco, 2 cups of warm water, and the dissolved yeast until well blended.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the sifted dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
- Let the dough rise until doubled in size, covered with a clean cloth.
- Punch down the dough and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured board to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut out rounds with a biscuit cutter.
- Place a pat of butter on half of each round, fold over like a fried pie, and seal the edges.
- Place the filled rolls in a greased muffin pan and let them rise until puffy.
- Bake in a preheated 425°F oven until golden brown, about 12-15 minutes.
