- Slice cucumbers and place in crock-pot with 2 cups salt and water to cover.
- Let set for 3 days.
- Next 3 days drain and cover with fresh water.
- On the 7th day, simmer for 1 1/2 hours with 3 quarts of water, 1 cup white vinegar and alum.
- Drain.
- Add syrup.
