A warming, spiced cranberry and port wine beverage perfect for cold evenings, blending aromatic spices and a touch of sweetness for a sophisticated, comforting drink.

Ingredients

  • 6 whole cloves
  • 4 whole cardamom seeds
  • 4 cups cranberry juice cocktail
  • 6 sticks cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups port wine

Instructions

  1. Tie cloves and cardamom seeds in a cheesecloth bag; place in a saucepan.
  2. Add 2 cups cranberry juice cocktail and sugar; bring to a boil.
  3. Simmer, uncovered, for about 10 minutes.
  4. Remove spice bag and let the mixture cool.
  5. Can sit for about 1 to 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Before serving, add remaining cranberry juice and port wine; heat to almost boiling.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
