Tips & Substitutions

For a lighter version, consider substituting half of the sugar with a sugar alternative like stevia or erythritol. You can also use Greek yogurt instead of low-fat sour cream for extra protein. Make sure to sift the cake flour for a lighter texture. If you don't have margarine, unsalted butter works well, but it may increase the calorie count.

Serving Suggestions

Serve slices of this guilt-free pound cake with fresh berries and a dollop of whipped cream for a delightful dessert. It pairs beautifully with a cup of tea or coffee. For a special twist, try serving alongside Congealed Lime Salad(Weight Watchers) for a refreshing contrast.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover pound cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. For longer storage, wrap slices in plastic wrap and freeze them for up to three months. Thaw at room temperature or gently reheat in the microwave for a warm treat.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use whole eggs instead of egg substitute?

Yes, you can use whole eggs instead of egg substitute. Typically, three large eggs will replace the 1 1/3 cups of egg substitute. However, this may increase the calorie content slightly, so keep that in mind if you're aiming for a guilt-free dessert.

How can I make this pound cake gluten-free?

To make a gluten-free version, substitute the cake flour with a gluten-free all-purpose flour blend. Ensure that the blend contains xanthan gum or add it separately to help with the cake's texture. The baking time may vary slightly, so keep an eye on the cake as it bakes.

What can I do if my pound cake is too dry?

If your pound cake turns out dry, consider adding a simple syrup or glaze on top to add moisture. You can make a quick syrup by mixing equal parts sugar and water, heating until dissolved, and brushing it over the cooled cake for added moisture and sweetness.
