Ingredients

  • 3 to 3 1/2 lb. ground beef (chuck)
  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 cup uncooked rice

Instructions

  1. Boil cut-up cabbage and onions in a small amount of water until soft.
  2. Add canned whole tomatoes to the boiling cabbage and onions and continue cooking.
  3. Mix ground beef and uncooked rice to form meatballs.
  4. Place the meatballs into the cooking pot with the vegetables and tomatoes.
  5. Cook on medium heat until meatballs are done, then simmer until flavors meld.
