Hell-Fire Crispy Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 c. plain flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c. tomato juice, heated
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp. Tabasco pepper sauce
  • vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In medium bowl combine all 7 ingredients.
  2. Stir in the egg, juice, onion and Tabasco.
  3. In large skillet over medium-high heat, bring 1 inch oil to 350°.
  4. Drop batter by teaspoons into oil, fry a few at a time, 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve immediately.
  7. Makes 2 dozen balls.
