Herbed Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 4 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp. thyme leaves
  • 2 (8 oz.) chicken or beef broth
  • 1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp. canola oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate ground turkey in 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, thyme leaves, 2 tablespoons of the broth and 1 tablespoon of the cornstarch.
  2. Let stand in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to one hour.
  3. Form meat into meatballs, 1/2 inch in diameter or larger if you prefer.
  4. Place on broiling pan so that juices and fat drain away.
  5. Broil for 10 minutes.
  6. (Do not turn meatballs.) Saute mushrooms and onions in oil until onions are opaque.
  7. Add meatballs, remaining Worcestershire, thyme and broth.
  8. Bring to a boil.
  9. Mix cornstarch with 1/2 cup cold water and stir into meatballs until sauce is just thickened.
