Holiday Bourbon Sweet Potatoes

A warm, sweet side dish featuring tender mashed sweet potatoes infused with bourbon and topped with mini marshmallows, perfect for holiday gatherings or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 6 large sweet potatoes or yams
  • salt to taste
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. bourbon
  • 1 c. mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and cook them in boiling water, covered, until tender, approximately 45 minutes.
  2. Add salt to the water while cooking.
  3. When potatoes are soft, drain and cut into pieces, then mash with an electric beater.
  4. Add butter and mix until well incorporated.
  5. Pour in bourbon and blend into the mashed sweet potatoes.
  6. Serve hot, optionally topped with mini marshmallows.
