Festive cherry squares combine crunchy corn flake crust with sweet marshmallows, coconut, cherries, and nuts, making a delightful treat perfect for holiday gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups corn flake crumbs
  • 1/2 cup regular margarine, softened
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1 1/3 cups flaked coconut
  • 3/4 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
  • 1 can Eagle Brand milk
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. In a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan, combine corn flake crumbs, softened margarine, and sugar.
  2. Press down firmly with the back of a spoon to form a crust.
  3. Sprinkle miniature marshmallows, flaked coconut, and chopped cherries evenly over the crust in layers.
  4. Pour Eagle Brand milk evenly over the top.
  5. Sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over all, pressing lightly into the mixture.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes or until lightly brown around the edges.
  7. Refrigerate before cutting into 1 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch squares.
