Hoosier Pudding is a delightful layered dessert combining angel food cake, vanilla pudding, Cool Whip, and fruit toppings, perfect for gatherings and those craving a sweet, creamy treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 baked angel food cake
  • 1 large package instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 large tub Cool Whip topping
  • 1 can pineapple tidbits, well drained
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries, well drained

Instructions

  1. Slice the baked angel food cake crosswise into three layers and separate.
  2. Prepare the vanilla pudding using 2 1/2 cups of milk according to package instructions.
  3. Stir 2 cups of Cool Whip into the prepared pudding.
  4. Spread half of the pudding mixture on the bottom cake layer.
  5. Top with one-third of the drained pineapple tidbits and halved maraschino cherries.
  6. Repeat with the second cake layer: spread with pudding mixture, then add fruit toppings.
  7. Place the third cake layer on top of the assembled layers.
  8. Frost the entire cake with the remaining Cool Whip.
  9. Garnish the top with extra pineapple and cherries if desired.
  10. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
