Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean boneless chuck
  • salt
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 8 to 10 potatoes, peeled and cut
  • 1 to 2 lb. carrots, peeled and sliced
  • milk
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash meat; boil in 2 cups water and salt for about 2 hours. Add vegetables and boil until done (about 30 minutes).
  2. Remove meat from pan.
  3. Mash all the vegetables and add butter and pepper. If too thick, add some milk (but a spoon must stand up in it). Serve with the sliced meat.
