Ingredients

  • 3 c. fresh mint leaves
  • 6 Tbsp. sugar
  • juice of 3 lemons

Instructions

  1. Pound the mint leaves to a pulp.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and pound again.
  3. Make a syrup by boiling 2 1/2 pints of water with the remaining sugar for 5 minutes.
  4. Take the pan off the heat and allow the syrup to cool.
  5. Add the lemon juice and mint pulp to the cooled syrup.
  6. Stir well together.
  7. Chill the mixture for several hours before serving.
