- Combine yeast with 2 1/4 cups of flour in a bowl.
- Heat water, melted fat, sugar, and salt until warm.
- Add the warm water mixture to the flour and yeast mixture.
- Beat until well mixed. Gradually add remaining flour and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a large greased bowl.
- Cover and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size.
- Divide the risen dough into two equal portions.
