Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Grease an 8-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix sugar, salt, margarine, and evaporated milk in a large saucepan.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, stirring until melted and smooth.
  5. Stir in chopped nuts and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
  7. Refrigerate for 2 hours before cutting into squares.
