Ingredients

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • double strength coffee
  • 2 Tbsp. bourbon or scotch

Instructions

  1. Make the yellow cake according to the package directions, substituting double strength coffee for the water called for.
  2. Bake the cake in two round layers.
  3. Allow the layers to cool, then split each layer in half horizontally.
  4. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon whiskey on each cut surface, except for the rounded top.
  5. Spread Cool Whip on each cut surface and on the top of the layers.
  6. Stack the layers to assemble the cake.
  7. Refrigerate the cake for at least 8 hours, preferably 24 hours, before serving.
