Italian Parmesan Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 3 c. flour, divided
  • 1/4 c. butter, softened
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. dehydrated minced onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. barbecue seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  3. large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add
  4. 2 cups flour, 1/4 cup butter, egg, sugar, seasonings and salt. Beat
  5. at
  6. low
  7. speed
  8. until
  9. mixed,
  10. about
  11. 30 seconds. Increase speed
  12. to medium and continue beating for 2 minutes. Stir in remaining flour and 1/3 cup cheese; beat until smooth. Cover bowl and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  13. Stir batter 25 strokes.
  14. Spread batter into a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole;
  15. brush

  17. melted butter and sprinkle with
  18. the remaining cheese.
  19. Cover and let rise until doubled, about
  20. 30 minutes.
  21. Bake

  23. 350°
  24. about 35 minutes or until golden
  25. brown. Cool

  27. wire rack 10 minutes before removing from the casserole.
  28. Yield:
