- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the Crisco and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Stir in the vanilla extract until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
