Instructions
- Sift together the enriched flour and salt.
- Cream the butter and cream cheese thoroughly.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness.
- Cut into 3 x 1-inch strips.
- Make a deep groove lengthwise down the center of each cookie with the handle of a knife, keeping ends closed.
- Place 1/2 teaspoon of jam or jelly in each groove.
- Place on an ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 15 to 20 minutes until delicately browned.
- Serve warm or cold.
