Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 Tbsp. oregano
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 (8 oz.) box lasagna noodles, cooked
  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. dry cottage cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook onion and ground beef until meat loses pink color.
  2. Add next 8 ingredients (whirl tomatoes in blend).
  3. Cook over low heat about 3 hours.
  4. Layer in large casserole 1/2 the noodles, cottage cheese, additional Parmesan cheese and Mozzarella cheese.
  5. Cover with sauce.
  6. Repeat layers.
  7. Bake for 1/2 hour at 350°.
