Ingredients

  • prepared 2 crust pastry
  • cooked sweetened dried fruit

Instructions

  1. Roll the prepared 2-crust pastry to 1/8 inch thickness.
  2. Cut out circles using a 4-inch cookie cutter.
  3. Place 1 1/2 tablespoons of cooked, sweetened dried fruit on each pastry round.
  4. Moisten the edges with cold water.
  5. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal with a floured fork.
  6. Deep fry in hot fat at 370°F for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Alternatively, sauté in a small amount of fat, then brown in a 425°F oven.
  9. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
