Ingredients

  • Duncan Hines German chocolate cake
  • 14 oz. pkg. caramels (50)
  • 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3/4 c. melted butter
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix cake according to directions on box.
  2. Put 1/2 of the batter in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes and cool.
  4. Melt together milk, caramels and butter.
  5. Pour over cooled cake.
  6. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
  7. Pour remaining batter over cake and bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes. Serve with ice cream.
