Ingredients

  • 3 qt. popped corn (unsalted)
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans
  • 1 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. Karo syrup

Instructions

  1. Mix nuts and popped corn in a large bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter or margarine, and Karo syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, over medium heat.
  3. Boil until mixture reaches 300° on a candy thermometer (hard crack stage). Add vanilla and stir.
  4. Pour the hot mixture over the popped corn and nuts, stirring to coat evenly.
  5. Quickly spread the mixture onto a cookie sheet to cool.
  6. Break apart when cooled into pieces.
