Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup tea leaves
  • 1/3 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 2/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 12 cups boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon allspice

Instructions

  1. Put sugar, cold water, and spices (tied in a bag) in an enamel or stainless pan.
  2. Bring to a boil; boil for 10 minutes.
  3. Put in tea leaves (tied in a bag).
  4. Add 12 cups hot water and citrus juices. Steep for 5 minutes.
  5. Strain if desired.
