Ingredients

  • 1/8 tsp. powdered alum
  • 1 grape leaf
  • 1 hot pepper
  • 1 head or stalk of dill
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 qt. apple vinegar
  • 1 c. salt
  • 3 c. water

Instructions

  1. Wash cucumbers well and let stand overnight in cold water. Pack in jars and add to each jar, the first 6 ingredients. Combine apple vinegar, salt and water.
  2. Boil and pour over cucumbers.
  3. Seal.
