- Remove pine nuts with a slotted spoon and set aside.

- Pour in water and crushed tomatoes, then add garlic and shredded cabbage.
- Return pine nuts to the pot, stir well, bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 25-30 minutes until rice is cooked and flavors meld.
