Linda'S Homemade Bread
Ingredients
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in 1 1/4 c. warm water.
- Stir in 1 c. warm water.
- add sugar, salt, and shortening.
- add 3 1/2 c. flour and stir until smooth.
- Add rest of flour to make dough easy to handle.
- Place in greased bowl to rise about 2 hours or until double in size.
- Divide dough in half and let rest 10 minutes. Grease 2 loaf pans and put dough in pans.
- Let rise until double or until pan is full and bake at 400 degrees until brown.
- Put melted butter on top before and after baked.
