Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. lemon peel, grated
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. almonds, ground
  • raspberry jam

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients as for pastry.
  2. Roll between sheets of wax paper (or press).
  3. Line bottom of jelly roll pan with dough.
  4. Save some for lattice.
  5. Spread dough with jam and nuts and then make lattice over top with reserved dough.
  6. Brush with egg and then bake in 350° oven until lightly browned.
