Ingredients

  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/4 c. low-fat butter
  • 3/4 c. cold low-fat or skim milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Cut the low-fat butter into the self-rising flour until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.
  3. Add the cold low-fat or skim milk and stir with a fork just until the dough leaves the sides of the bowl.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead briefly until smooth.
  5. Roll the dough out to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut with a floured cutter.
  6. Place the biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden.
