Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 package shell macaroni, cooked and drained
  • 1 can chilies, chopped
  • 2 cups fat-free shredded Cheddar cheese, divided

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the turkey and chopped onion over medium heat.
  2. Drain the mixture and add water, taco seasoning, and tomato sauce; mix well.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Stir in cooked and drained macaroni, chopped chilies, and 1 1/2 cups of cheese.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes, until heated through.
