Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 tablespoon sugar, cornstarch, and water together until clear.
  2. Cool the mixture.
  3. Beat egg whites, salt, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add 6 tablespoons sugar while beating.
  5. Beat well until stiff peaks are achieved.
  6. Spoon the meringue onto pie filling and brown at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes.
