Ingredients

  • 2 ready-made pie crusts
  • 3 Granny Smith apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 stick margarine

Instructions

  1. Use one pie crust for the bottom and one for the top, keeping the top crust frozen until ready to use.
  2. Peel and core the apples; slice them into the pie shell.
  3. Sprinkle allspice, sugar, and flour over the apples. Dot with 1/4 stick of margarine.
  4. Cover the pie with the top crust.
  5. Slice holes in the top crust, dot with the remaining margarine, and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon sugar.
  6. Bake the pie at 425°F for 10 minutes, then reduce temperature to 350°F and bake for an additional 35 minutes.
